PAPA OSCAR Fashion Group launches an integration initiative for young refugees
Frankfurt, August 01, 2019 – Germany’s market-leading investment company for early-stage companies in the fashion and lifestyle sectors, has launched an initiative to integrate young refugees with the Youth Job center and the IHK in Frankfurt am Main. The funding program commences on August 1st, 2019 with the first program participant,Kotaiba, a young refugee from Syria, who is trained as a merchant for e-commerce. The 24-year-old came to Germany in 2015 during the refugee crisis. Being able to complete his apprenticeship at PAPA OSCAR in Frankfurt is “a very special opportunity,” says Kotaiba. He is one of the first in Germany to take a completely new professional path since his last year of training, because the apprenticeship program for e-commerce merchants is new in Germany. At PAPA OSCAR, trainees will learn how to run, maintain and develop an online shop, get to know the classic elements of the merchant profession and online sales, as well as the chance to demonstrate their mathematical and technical skills.NiklasBirg, the Social Media Marketing Manager at PAPA OSCAR and E-Commerce Instructor, is pleased with the growing team: “Kotaiba will be a great addition to our team. We are all pleased to be able to contribute to the integration of refugees in Frankfurt and to accompany them on their journeys of finding success in Germany.” More than half of the refugees who come to Germany are under 25 years old. In particular, their integration poses a particular challenge that the investment company in the heart of Frankfurt would like to take on. Other local companies looking for skilled workers, apprentices and refugees can also benefit from targeted support programs for access to training and employment.
